On a multisite network, checking each site by hand does not scale. With Broken Link Fixer Pro network activated, one Network Admin page shows the health of every site and scans them for you. This guide covers the page, the scan, and the limits.
What You’ll Learn
- What network activation gives you
- How to scan one site or all of them
- How to export every site’s links
- How to scan a very large network
Network Activation
Activate the plugin with Network Activate. Each site keeps its own results, history, redirects, and options, so nothing is mixed between sites and a site admin sees only their site. The Network Admin page only reads them and starts the scans. Fixing links is done on the site, with Open results.
The Network Page
Open Broken Links in the Network Admin menu. Every site is listed with its broken, warning, redirect, and OK counts and the time of its last scan. The totals are shown above the table. Archived, spam, and deleted sites are left out.
Scanning
Click Scan on a row for one site, or Scan All Sites for every site one after the other. The row shows the progress and updates its counts when it finishes. A site that cannot be scanned shows the reason, and the others carry on. Keep the page open until it finishes. A site that already has a scan running is skipped.
Exporting
Export CSV (every site) writes the links of all sites to one file, with the address of the site in the first column. See Exporting the results to CSV.
License
The license is activated on the main site: Broken Links > License. Without it, the network page shows a notice and its buttons are disabled.
Very Large Networks
The page lists up to 500 sites. For more, or for a scan that does not need a browser, use WP-CLI: wp blfx scan --network scans every site, and wp blfx stats --network lists their counts. See Using the WP-CLI commands.
This feature is available in Broken Link Fixer Pro.
