Sometimes the list has to leave WordPress: for a client report, a content team, or a spreadsheet. Broken Link Fixer Pro exports the open filter to a CSV file in one click. This guide covers what is in the file.
What You’ll Learn
- How to export a filter
- What each column holds
- How the file is kept safe for spreadsheets
- How to export a whole network
Exporting
Open the Results page, choose the filters you want, for example Broken and Links, and click Export CSV. The file holds the links of the filter that is open, not just the page you are on. It is made from the stored results, so no new requests are sent and it is quick.
The Columns
- id – the number of the link in the plugin
- status – broken, warning, redirect, or dismissed
- code – the response code
- type – Link, Image, Stylesheet or font, Script, Iframe, or Video or audio
- url – the address
- error – the reason, such as a soft 404 or mixed content message
- final_url – where it redirects to, or the https address for mixed content
- found_in – the addresses of the pages that use it, up to ten, separated by a vertical bar
- first_seen and checked_at – when it was first found and last checked
Safe for Spreadsheets
A cell that starts with =, +, -, or @ could be run as a formula by a spreadsheet. The export puts an apostrophe in front of those cells so it never is. The file is UTF-8, with a byte order mark so accents open correctly in Excel. A file holds at most 100,000 rows.
Networks
On a multisite network, the Network Admin page has Export CSV (every site), which adds a site column. See Scanning a multisite network.
The export needs an active license.
This feature is available in Broken Link Fixer Pro.
