A dead shortcode can be in a custom field, for example a text field of ACF. Scanning custom fields is off until you turn it on.
What You’ll Learn
- Turning it on
- Which fields are read
- Fixing and undoing
Turning It On
Under Options, set Scan Custom Fields to Yes and scan the site again. Each finding says which custom field it is in.
Which Fields Are Read
Only public custom fields, the ones whose names do not start with an underscore. Private fields are never read or changed. Values stored as arrays are read text by text, and a stored object is left alone. Only shortcodes are looked for in custom fields, not blocks.
Fixing and Undoing
The preview shows each custom field that changes next to the content. A fix changes the content and the fields of a post together, with one backup, and Restore puts the fields back exactly as they were. If a field was edited after the fix, the post is marked as edited and left alone unless you confirm.
This is available in Broken Shortcode Fixer Pro.
