The scan reads your content and compares every shortcode and block with what WordPress has registered right now. Anything that is not registered is a finding.
What You’ll Learn
- What the scan reads
- What counts as a finding
- How long a scan takes
What the Scan Reads
It reads the content of every public post type, in small steps from the Shortcodes page, and can read public custom fields too. Nothing is changed by a scan.
What Counts as a Finding
A shortcode whose plugin or theme is not active, a block whose plugin is not active, and block comments that are opened but never closed. Shortcodes and blocks that work are never listed.
How Long a Scan Takes
A step handles a few posts at a time, so a large site simply takes more steps. If you close the page, the next scan starts again from the beginning.
This is available in Broken Shortcode Fixer Pro.
