The free version turns galleries into sliders on Posts and Pages. Pro extends that to any public post type that uses an editor – Portfolio, Projects, Services, WooCommerce Products and the like. This guide shows how to choose them and what happens on each.
What You’ll Learn
- Where to choose the post types
- Which post types appear in the list
- What changes for WooCommerce Products
- What happens when you untick a post type
Choosing the Post Types
Go to Gallery Slider > Settings and find Post Types. Every public post type with an editor is listed with a checkbox. Tick the ones that should have sliders and click Save.
The same list decides where the editor options appear: the Gallery block settings panel and the Classic Editor Gallery Slider Options box show only on the post types you ticked.
Which Post Types Are Listed
The list shows post types that are public and support the editor. Post types made by themes and plugins (such as a Portfolio type from your theme, or one you created with a custom post type plugin or ACF) appear on their own. Post types without an editor, or ones hidden from the front end, are not listed because they have no galleries to show.
WooCommerce Products
Ticking Products does two things:
- Galleries in the product description become sliders, like on any other post.
- The product page gallery itself can be replaced by the slider, with thumbnails, hover zoom and variation images. That is set up on the WooCommerce tab – see Setting up the WooCommerce product gallery.
If Products is not ticked, the WooCommerce tab shows a reminder with a link back to Settings.
Unticking a Post Type
Galleries on that post type go back to regular WordPress grids straight away. Nothing is deleted: the per-gallery options you set stay saved with each gallery and come back when you tick the post type again.
Custom post type and WooCommerce Products support is available in Gallery Slider Suite Pro.
