Reading Your Link Analytics Dashboard

Block Editor External Links Beginner Last updated: September 21, 2026

The Analytics tab in Block Editor External Links Pro turns the data the plugin is already collecting into a dashboard – no separate tracking or setup required. This guide walks through each section and what it’s telling you.

What You’ll Learn

  • What the Overview numbers mean
  • How Top Domains is ranked
  • How to read the Weekly Growth chart

Overview

Three numbers at the top of the Analytics tab give you a snapshot of your list right now:

  • Stored Links – the total number of external links currently saved.
  • Unique Domains – how many distinct domains those links span.
  • Added This Week – links first discovered in the last 7 days, with a comparison against the week before.

Top Domains

This chart ranks domains by their combined usage count – the sum of the usage count across every stored link on that domain, not just how many links you have there. A domain with three heavily-cited links can rank above a domain with ten links you’ve each used once. This is the same usage count that drives autocomplete’s suggestion ranking, so Top Domains is effectively a view into which sources actually matter most in your content.

Weekly Growth

This chart plots how many new links were first discovered each week, over the last 12 weeks. It tracks discovery, not usage – a week can show zero new links even if your content was actively linking to sources you’d already stored before. A sudden spike usually lines up with either a burst of new published content or a change to Post Types to Scan that brought a lot of previously-unscanned content into extraction at once.
